Aiport - Taipei

sunny

Well, considering the flight was at 8.55 this morn, we decided we should do the right thing and get to the airport the mandatory 3 hours before any international flight - no taxi this time - the bus at 4.30! Yay - Not... Were about to hop on the bus when we were offered a "cab" ride by some guy in a black mitsubishi with no markings.. Hopped in for two seconds - started to wake up a little, and thought, um, this is freakin dodgy - he's probably going to charge us about 1000 bucks when we get there! (Bus was 150 each). So, much to his protest - some very loud mandarin, we grabbed our stuff and trotted off to the bus - which ended up getting to the airport in about 15 mins - what the? Realised our flight had a stop-off in Hong Kong - and was going to be 5 hours long, but some awesome China air hostess changed it to a direct flight for us for free : ) - as the man waiting in the line said - "hehe, you from Australia, everything negotiable here, everything, hehe" - sweet - worked for us - so it's off to the old Bangaroony!
